Jeter doesn’t want to be free agent
New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter is in the last year of his contract, which is causing a lot of attention to be focused on him during spring training.
Could it possibly be Jeter’s last spring training and last season in the Yankees pinstripe uniform?
Jeter said he has no interest in reaching the free agent market and wants to finish his career in New York.
It would seem almost unthinkable that the Yankees wouldn’t re-sign Jeter to at least a two-year deal.
He played some of his best baseball last year and brings a tremendous amount of leadership to the clubhouse.
