Hughes named fifth starter
The New York Yankees have named Phillip Hughes their fifth starter, putting Joba Chamberlain in the bullpen.
The team has liked what they have seen out of Hughes this spring, a former top prospect in the organization.
He also pitched well last year in a relief role and appears ready for the responsibility of taking a turn in the rotation every fifth day.
Meanwhile, Chamberlain will once again be relegated to the bullpen in what will most likely be a setup role.
The Yankees feel that his power style of pitching is best suited at the back end of their bullpen.
