Yankees urge Jeter to test market

The New York Yankees have made their offer to shortstop Derek Jeter and they don’t intend on increasing it.

The Yankees said they are encouraging Jeter to test the open market to find out what he is really worth.

The team is smart enough to know that Jeter’s worth is much greater to their organization than anyone else.

Yankees show interest in Lee

As soon as the clock struck midnight, the New York Yankees were on the phone with Texas Rangers pitcher Cliff Lee.

Eiland missed nearly a month of action earlier in the year for undisclosed personal reasons, which was also about the same time that A.J. Burnett took a turn for the worse. (Read More…)

Yankees eliminated in Game 6

The New York Yankees were shut down by Colby Lewis and eliminated from the American League Championship Series.

The Yankees managed to score just one run in the fifth inning en route to a 6-1 defeat in Arlington.

Losing first baseman Mark Teixeira to a hamstring injury proved too much for the offense to overcome.

Meanwhile, pitcher Phillip Hughes continued his postseason struggles, allowing four runs while failing to reach the fifth inning. (Read More…)
