The New York Yankees have signed outfielder Andruw Jones to a one-year contract worth $2 million.
Jones has the opportunity to made an additional $1.2 million in incentives, and they shouldn’t be too hard to reach.
The outfielder has seen his star dim significantly since he was one of the best outfielders in the game with the Atlanta Braves.
He did show signs of bouncing back last year in limited time with the White Sox, hitting 19 home runs. (Read More…)

The New York Yankees finally made a significant free agent splash, signing reliever Rafael Soriano to a three-year contract worth $35 million.
Soriano will serve as the setup man for closer Mariano Rivera, giving the Yankees one of the best bullpens in baseball.
Rivera only has a two-year contract, and it’s been made clear that Soriano would take over as closer should the veteran retire when his deal expires.
Rivera actually spoke very highly of Soriano and helped convince the Yankees to sign him, so in a way he selected his successor. (Read More…)
